Halo wars week 4 - War comes to a dead world

Postby Mad Mike » 22 Aug 2016, 13:48

Warp storms have disrupted astropathoc communicatons regarding last weeks battles. Either that or I am not psychic so I cannot perform a proper write up without knowing who won what!

The trouble with the warp aside this week the conflict moves to the fortress world of Illisk.

There will be a special games this week, detailed info to follow later. Essentially we will have a main game and two side games that can effect the main game. (We may have to run two main games and 4 side depending on player uptake) information will be posted later today with recommendations for the types of forces to be used for each of the missions.

All factions will have reason to be here and games will decide the ultimate fate of the world of Illisk

***important - 1 mission requires the space hulk roll Matt. Please leave this free***

In answer Shaun please find the missions below. Points will most likely be 1750.

Me and Aaron will be fighting mission tertius. Which irritatingly I realise i have left off the fact the hulk can also fire a earth shaker shell each disorder phase per objective not destroyed.

I think so Sam, last week certainly was very good indeed!

As for some fluff...

As the battle between the forces of the Imperium and Ruinous powers of Chaos raged on Illisk, an Eldar taskforce took up a defensive position around an Imperial heavy artillery battery. For the Eldar knew, that unbeknownst to the Imperium, these mighty guns were built upon an ancient Necron catacomb. With each shot, the Canoptek constructs watching over the complex awoke more of the machines from their deep slumber. Soon, a formidable force of Necrons began their march upon the guns and the Eldar. Yet, damaged systems delayed the awakening of many of the Necron soldiers, presenting an opportunity for the Eldar. Nevertheless, the Necron tide pushed forward and soon they had destroyed two of the mighty Imperial Earthshakers, forcing the Eldar back and forming a defensive phalanx around the sole remaining imperial gun, which continued to rain down the Emperor's wrath upon the ruinous powers. The Necron tide pushed on, yet the Eldar stood resolute and disrupting the Necron advance and forcing the Overlord to call his forces back to their tomb. Standing victorious against the ancient enemy, the Eldar watched as last remaining Imperial Earthshaker suddenly fell silent...

The great forces of Russ meet on the battle field looking for the great relic bestowed upon Najl, both forces were strong with the notorious thunder wolves, it was a bloody battle worthy of the of the early crusaders.
Thou many had not been seen since the days Leman Russ sailed the Sea of Stars at the head of his Legion. Now, amid daemon incursions of alarming size, the wulfen return to fight by the side of Harald's fierce warriors.
The opposing wolf army was slain with no mercy, remorse or hesitation, the wulfen had infected Heralds Thunderwolf Warriors with the curse arising from their wild Canis Helix embedded within and the feral animalistic behaviours.

Harald's great force was victorious, the 13th company were hailed as saviours, although all was not as appeared, could the 13th company have been corrupted, was there a great force behind this victory, the powerful entities who inhabit and control the psychic dimension that underlies all physical reality.

To Be Continued......
