House Rules **PLEASE READ**

Postby sjjones » 28 Feb 2017, 23:24

So, as you may have seen, there has been some restructuring of the forums. With this comes a fresh approach to engaging users, both NLS members and non-membes as part of an online community.

General Terms:
  • Ordo Moderatus - Forum Moderators (aka. NLS Inquisitors)
Adeptus Administratum - Club Committee and Forum Administrators
General Rules
  • Respect opinions. Forums are for discussions and often opinions may differ. Of course users have the right to not agree with another user’s opinion and to comment in a reasonable and non-hostile manner. At Norwich Last Stand we seek to provide an environment where diversity is celebrated and differences tolerated.
  • Users are asked to be respectful towards other members. Abusing or “Flaming” other users will not be tolerated and may result in an immediate ban.
  • Please be mindful that these forums are publicly viewable. Posting pornographic, offensive text, images, links etc. is not allowed and will lead to a warning. Repeat offenders may be banned.
  • Spam is not tolerated under any circumstance. This includes the advertisement of any product/service not connected to Norwich Last Stand. Users posting spam will be warned and their post removed. The only exception is the “For Sale / Wanted” forum where users can advertise tabletop gaming related items they are selling or want. Members posting information or links to content regarding the various games we play does not fall under this category
  • Do not feed trolls. A troll is an individual that feeds on the gullibility and reactions of other users for their own self-gratification and attention seeking purposes. Where a user is trolling, simply report the offending posts/user and let the Ordo Moderatus or Adeptus Administratum purge the heretic.
  • Thread Necromancy (where old topics are responded to, thus bumping them) will result in the topic being locked by a moderator or administrator. Please create new topics rather than comment on older ones. Let the dead be.
  • Norwich Last Stand takes no responsibility for the content of any posted link or image by users. By visiting a link posted by another user, users do so at their own risk.
Attachments
  • Users may post up to three attachments with a post which is mainly used with photos of works in progress or for army showcasing etc.
  • Please be mindful of the storage space required for these. To help preserve storage space and bandwidth, Norwich Last Stand has imposed a maximum resolution for images of 1600px x 1600px. This means that many higher resolution photos may need to be scaled down before posting. Please refer to your smartphone apps and/or computer software to accomplish this. Please note that any images deemed to large may be subject to editing or removal by a moderator.
  • Where possible, users are requested to upload their images elsewhere and directly link to them in their post. In this case there is no restrictions on the number and resolution of images that can be included.
Signatures
  • Signatures may contain up to 255 characters of text.
  • Users can include up to 5 links in their signatures.
  • Users can include one image of 468px wide by 60px high which should not be animated.
  • All signature content must conform to rule 1b.
Avatars
  • Users are free to specify an avatar for themselves. This can be no bigger than 90px by 90px and must conform to rule 1b.
  • Please avoid using animated avatars.
Moderation
  • Norwich Last Stand has a team of volunteer moderators who enforce these rules.
  • Moderator or Administrator users can at any time and without warning edit, lock or remove posts which they deem violate these rules.
  • Respect the decisions of Moderators and Administrators. If you feel you have been unjustly treated, then send a private message to another member of Ordo Moderatus or Adeptus Administratum.

Forum Specific Rules:

For Sale / Wanted
  • Please post new topics each item or groups of items you have for sale or are wanting. This avoid long threads and thus easier on the database.
  • Due to suggestions from members, this forum will auto-prune (remove) topics which are inactive topics for at least 28 days
Looking for a Game
  • Please post new topics for each game request you have rather than respond to existing ones with your requests for a game. This avoid long threads and thus easier on the database.
  • Be clear in the topic the name of the game you seek to play, points where applicable and if you want competitive play or not.
  • Due to suggestions from members, this forum will auto-prune (remove) topics which are inactive topics for at least 28 days
Fluff and Showcase
  • Please post new topics for each showcase topic, whether this be an army or scenary showcase, battle report, narrative campaigns, fluff etc.
  • Please do post updates in the same topic. While remaining on-topic, it also builds up the “journey” to those viewing.
  • If posting attachments, please ensure the rules regarding attachments are followed.
Works in Progress
  • Please post new topics for each work-in-progress / project. Subsequent posts / comments can therefore stick to that specific project. This avoids long threads and helps organise things with some computational benefits too.
  • Please do post updates to your project in the same topic. While remaining on-topic, it also builds up the “journey” to those viewing.
  • If posting attachments, please ensure the rules regarding attachments are followed. Again, please consider using a photo hosting service i.e. Google etc if you wish to post large files.
  • The old Works in Progress (Behemoth Thread) has been split up and reorganised into topics by each creator so as to still show case these works. Additionally, all attachments have been rescaled to smaller sizes for storage and bandwidth issues. Please avoid the urge to add to these topics though.
